"AI EEG Study" is an interactive installation meant to visualize EEG data with real-time AI-generated images. This project aims to explore the viewers' brain activity with AI-generated images of nature. The spectator is invited to wear an EEG headset, and while he does so, AI starts to generate images of nature and display them on a screen. If the user has an active mind, high percent of alpha waves, then AI will generate images with vivid nature, full of life. If he is not paying attention and his mind presents low activity, then AI will generate images of dead nature, dry flowers in black and white. I want it to emphasize the idea that if you are awake and aware, and pay attention to what you see, then things start to become more alive, and nature opens for you. Nature will die as you lose your focus. Audio plays as well; birds sing as you are more aware, making it a more complete experience. The EEG in use is a Muse S, it is streaming the signal throu the Mind Monitor app. It uses also real time AI image generator Stream Diffusion, integrated in Touchdesigner99 by DotSimulate.
This is a graduation project for the "Digital Interactive Arts - DIA" master program, Faculty of Theater and Film, Babes Balyai University. It was coordinated by Prof. Univ. Habil Rodica Mocanu.
